the cutest illustration

I'm so excited to show you an illustration of Kizzy!

Elycia of loveelycia.com recently did a blog makeover and used some super cute illustrations she had made of her cute little family. I thought they were the sweetest illustrations so I asked her if she would make one of Kizzy. She was so sweet and said yes! I am so happy with the results! She captured all the little details I love of Kizzy, especially the little dots on her nose & her love of yarn! Didn't she do a great job!?

flavors.me

I came across this really neat application today that lets your create some sort of a "homepage" for all your social websites. It's called flavors.me It makes it much easier to give this link to your friends or customers than to give them 4 or 5 different links to go to. This way they can find everything they need from you in one place.

Here is mine for an example. http://flavors.me/thatischarming

You can link your blog like I did here. It pops up right on that screen so they can read it from that page.

I also have my twitter feed come through on here.

I also have my etsy and flickr accounts linked on here but they have tons of other services you can link to on here.

This is perfect for those of you that have blogs, twitter, flickr, facebook fanpages or any other networking sites to go along your etsy shops.

A Little Change

You may notice the blog is looking a little different. I added a 3rd column & deleted a few things. I just want a cleaner look. I was using my blogroll as my primary way to read blogs but it was just getting out of hand with too many blogs but thanks to my husband & Diana of our.city.lights I was able to figure out how to use my google reader so I'm feeling so much more organized and less likely to miss things.

I'm also planning on maybe offering advertisement later on down the road.

So what do you think of the new layout? Would anybody be interested in adverting on That Is Charming?

Erin's Party

First off I just want to thank everyone for all the encouragement in my last post! I can't believe how much support I have for the weight loss challenge! You all will help me to reach my goal!

Last month I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with some of my favorite bloggers. Everyone met up to celebrate Erin's birthday. It was definitely a wonderful experience making new friends! Erin posted pictures from her birthday party and I want to share a few of them here with you! Photos were taken by Will Vastine.

Weekend in Pictures

This weekend has been sooo nice! The weather has been beautiful & my allergies haven't been acting up. Saturday morning we woke up and headed out to an auction. At first it didn't seem like there was a lot but after looking harder we found some pretty awesome deals!

Seth got a tackle box full of fishing gear & I got a mirror with hooks. You know how auctioneers like to clump junk into groups so when you bid on one thing you get a ton of junk as well? We got one of those, however it turned out better than I thought! I just wanted the mirror with the hooks but he also included a flashlight and a super ugly owl wall hanging. This giant frame was holding a red velvety material with the owl glued to the center. I just laughed when we won it but after looking at it some more I decided to punch out the velvety center and tear off the owl. The owl almost matches another wall owl that I bought a couple weeks ago at a garage sale. Just painted differently and is facing the opposite direction. Awesome! So now I have a pretty frame that can be painted and an owl to match my other owl!

I found this lacy table cloth for 50 cents at a garage sale. I'm not sure if I will keep it there or use the material for something else.

The ugly to awesome owl hanging & the lacy table cloth weren't the best deals of the day though! We got this kitchen island for $13! It looks like it was hardly used. We only had to scrub some dirt off the top. Seth looked the same island up online and found it for sale for $119 at Walmart... awesome deal!!

I wore my awesome fabric covered button earrings from Vividot that I won over at the our.city.lights blog to church today! I also have 2 other pairs of earrings and 2 rings. She also threw in extra buttons and a keychain! Every piece is sooo pretty! If you haven't already you must check out her shop!

After church we drove to Columbia for lunch at Olive Garden & to meet up with Jill & Jacob and their cute little daughter at Barnes & Noble. (By the way I don't really ride like that. I just put my feet up for the photo! :) )

Springfield Weekend

I had the most amazing time this weekend in Springfield with some amazing girls! It was so fun meeting Jamie, Lindsay, Emjay, Amy, Janel, Haley, Jenny, Erin, Elsie, Rachel, Kristin, and Allister! We spent the weekend at Elsie's RVA artwalk party, some thrifting, some of the girls got tattoos on Saturday, then that evening we celebrated Erin's birthday! Apology

So the past week I know I haven't posted much and I'm afraid this week is going to be similar. Last week I was busy crocheting stuff for an auction... which didn't go for much... but we won't worry about that. Just wasn't the right crowd I suppose. This week I am busy crocheting things for this weekend. I have a couple more pandas to make for Lindsay and a few touches to my outfit for Springfield this weekend!! I am super excited about meeting everyone! Only a couple more days! So I'm afraid I won't be posting much until after my weekend. Hopefully afterwards I will get back into the swing of thing! And I hope you all are still here! I really appreciate all my readers and all your comments make my day!!
