yarn vases

I recieved the latest lion brand catelog this week and was really inspired by their yarn wrapped vases.

I have been saving tin coffee and soup cans and thought they were perfect for this project. I took 3 different sizes and wrapped some scrap yarn around it and added the contrasting black for some texture. It was exactly what I needed to place on top of our entertainment center. I'm really loving simple decor lately.

In other news... how come nobody has ever told me about Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog!? Seth found it on Netflix and made me watch it. It is so weird but so funny! Neil Patrick Harris never fails to make us laugh!

Love these scenes!

looking forward to

This weekend is pretty packed for us! Tonight we are taking the youth to a youth event and then as soon as we get home tomorrow we are going to this show!

Can't wait! Anything you are looking forward to this weekend?

Seabird

Yesterday we visited some friends at our old college. Seth took the day off to take care of some business out there. It is so good to talk to our old friends. Visiting them makes me miss them so much! We had lunch with my brother and talked to him awhile. Then we talked to some friends while they were finishing up homework. Then we walked to the school bookstore and we bought Seabird's Til We See The Shore CD. I heard Biggest Loser's Jillian Michaels mention that band the day before on facebook so we checked them out.

Totally love this CD! We listened to it 3 times all the way through on the way home. It helped the trip (that felt like it was never going to end) to not feel that bad! Here is my favorite song on the album.

Black and Blue

Music Monday - Jack Conte

[source]

I'm taking a break from cleaning to do my Music Monday post. The past few weeks I have been listening to Jack Conte constantly. You may recognize him from the Pomplamoose video I posted a few weeks ago. He is a very talented musician!

These videos are a few of my favorites.

Prepare to be blown away!

If you liked these videos he has a ton more on his youtube channel here

Fundamental Elements

My friend Jesse reminded me about this band last week on twitter and I thought this was a good one for my Monday music this week! They are Fundamental Elements! I believe they are from St. Louis. Seth & I love this band! They came to our school a few times to perform. And we saw them in Columbia once. Their music is so fun to listen & dance to and they are very cool guys! Hopefully we will get the chance to see them live again because their shows are always entertaining! I wish there were more better videos of them performing. I feel like all the videos don't do them justice but I will show you anyway. I would recommend checking out their website or Itunes store to check out their songs on there!

One of our favorite things about their show is the bass solo by Mark. It amazes us everytime! I have never seen anything like it before! Here is the video I took when they performed at our school of his solo.

My brother showed us about AutoTune on youtube. We have been having fun finding parodies using AutoTune. Our favorite is the Charlie Bit Me video.

Today we spent the day walking around the square at Winterset. I will post a couple pictures later.

The Cake Eaters

I just watched the movie The Cake Eaters. Kristen Stewart's acting was really good in this one! So far every movie I have seen her in has been really good! Plus this song won't get out of my head now!

Speaking of Kristin, one of Seth's students let me borrow all the Twilight books so now I can finally read New Moon!! I got tired of waiting for it at the library...
