Collections Day 3 - Beach Sand

Today for day 3 of Lindsay's collection challenge I am going to show you the beginnings of a collection we have started. Since going to Galveston, TX last year we started collecting sand from the beach of our vacation and I make a little terrarium with sand, shells, & other little findings on the beach. Since we don't like spending money whenever we can, this is a great way to have a souvenir of our vacation without buying their overpriced souvenirs. I etched "Galveston, TX" on the big one. I have yet to etch "Tybee Island, GA" on the little one. I can't wait to see wherever else we will be collecting sand from!

Do you have any recommendation for future beach vacations for us?

wow this collection is really cool!! You know what would be amazing?? you know those little tiny tubes you can put on a necklace? you could make necklaces with sand from each beach and label it somewhere. That way you could take the beach with you everywhere you go!!

thats awesome! I collect sand too! well, started to at least. The one and only beach that I can recommend is in Waikiki, HI. The first time I saw the ocean - or beach - was when we went to Hawaii in 2008....and it was amazing! We went to more than Waikiki beach, so I recommend any beach on the north shore as well, but Oahu and Maui are amazing. Got some of those pics on fb if you wanna check them out.

Also, love that you etched the name onto the glass, what a great idea!
