Today is the start of week 4 of Seth's Weight Loss Challenge! I can't believe I have made it this far without quitting! I may not have lost a lot of pounds yet but I'm seeing results and that is making me very happy. Like I have said before I have more energy and my clothes are starting to fit more comfortably. I love it! I read in a magazine this morning that if you keep working at it after 4 weeks than your chances of succeeding goes way up.
One girl in the challenge asked me what I am doing for food. This is what I wrote to her...
"...I have been eating about 6 small meals a day. breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and maybe a snack if I'm hungry later. My snacks are either an apple or a banana. My regular meals are smaller portions than I used to have. I don't get seconds. And I allow myself one sugar snack a day so I don't feel deprived and binge. So mostly it's portion control & keeping my metabolism up. Other than that I make sure I workout to either my Jillian DVD or I do yoga with Seth on his P90X. And If I don't feel like it was enough I walk a mile on the treadmill. I feel more comfortable with the 1 to 2 pound loss a week. I would get discouraged if it was up one week and down the next you know? haha This may have been more than you asked for but there it is! Nothing fancy..."
So it's nothing complicated really. It's so much easier than I thought it would be. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I think before I wanted to lose the pounds fast and when it didn't happen I gave up. I didn't see the reason to keep going. But now I made small changes in my everday life and I see constant steady changes. I don't expect high numbers so I don't get discouraged. I am happy when I see that I have lost 1 pound. This isn't the Biggest Loser Ranch. Losing 10 pounds a week every week is just not normal. And I'm also less likely to gain all that right back as soon as my "diet" is over. I see myself continuing what I am doing now long after this challenge is over.
It's time to get ready to go do some yoga with Seth. I love this workout!

yeah, doing it "biggest loser" style would be a little crazy. did you know they work out for literally 8 hours a day? the girls have to burn 6000 calories, and the men have to burn 8000. crazy!

keep it up. :)

I love your goals & how you're approaching them!!! I also LOVE that you know this isn't a diet...I mean, it kinda has to be more of a lifestyle change for it to stick...& it's true...after 4 weeks you're definitely more likely to stick with it!!! How amazing! Girl you look great! You should be my friend over at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ ...I totally sound like an add...but it helps you track your progress...it's kind of an amazing site. =) I need to get back into the yoga thing...it really helps to stretch out the muscles & relieve some tension. Yay for you!!! You're doing soooo great!
