The Handmade Marketplace

Tonight Seth & I went to Jefferson City to Hobby Lobby to pick up some stuff for his sister's wedding next month. We ate at Panera Bread which is delicious!! We will definitely have to go more often! Then we went to Barnes & Noble for some coffee and shopping. I bought The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin. This book caught my eye right away. I flipped through it and found info on things that have really been on my mind lately like branding and things like that. Also I noticed right away the illustrations in this book were by Emily Martin whose illustrations I absolutely love!

I can't wait to read through this! Have any of you read this book? Was it useful?

Super duper useful! I blogged about buying it, too :) I found it really useful, especially the emphasis on creating your own community instead of focusing your social networking on just selling things.

I pick up this book every time I'm at the book store but haven't bought it yet. It's on to-buy list, but I pledged to not buy any more books until I finish the unread books I already own. So far, one down, 26 more to go :) I'm using my blog to keep me accountable...otherwise I would buy new books like usual. So far, so good!

The last time I visited Barnes & Noble I saw this book on the shelves and thought it might be a good choice. Right now I am not making many crafty things of my own, but hope to do so soon. I may have to put this on my 'to read' list.

Funny... I just found your blog tonight, but on the very day that you wrote about this book on your blog, I did as well. Here's a link:
